1st Annual Trivia Bee & Fundraiser
Do you love trivia? Do you want to get involved with your community and contribute charitably while also having a good time? If so, please consider being a part of Project Avary's 1st Annual Trivia Bee. The Bee is scheduled for Friday, May 19, 2017, at the Mill Valley Community Center, from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Jasper Thelin, Project Avary's original camp director will be the event emcee. The game will be led by 33-year veteran, Marin's Master of Trivia, Howard Rachelson. Here's how you can get involved! You can:
- BEE an event SPONSOR
- BEE a competing TEAM
- BEE in the AUDIENCE to show your support for a team and for Project Avary
This year's theme is the 1980s, so crimp your hair, dust off your electric-green sweatbands, and get ready for an amazing night (prizes awarded for best costume and most spirited)! You'll be greeted with 1980s party music favorites, a complimentary wine and cheese hour, along with a silent auction and raffles. It will be an evening of delicious food (Sol Food is catering!), friendly team competition, joyful merriment, and an opportunity for YOU to contribute to ending generational cycles of violence and incarceration in your community.
Project Avary has built brighter futures for over 900 children with a parent in prison. What would happen if Avary wasn't able to help? Children of incarcerated parents are more likely to experience mental illness, school dropout, homelessness, and incarceration. Join us in breaking the generational cycle of violence and incarceration and take advantage of some unique advertising opportunities by becoming a sponsor today.
We have space for 40 teams at this year's Bee, emceed by Jasper Thelin and led by veteran Trivia Master, Howard Rachelson. Prizes awarded to the Trivia Bee winners and to the team with the most enthusiasm and spirit! Team Entry: $300-$500 (basically, pay what you can!) per team of 4
Spectator tickets are $20 and include a buffet dinner from Sol Food, complimentary wine and cheese hour, and admission into our silent auction. Prizes given for best costumes and most-spirited, so arrive ready to cheer on your team 1980's style!
